She graduated in Literature from the University of São Paulo (1973) and received a PhD in Literature (Portuguese Literature) from the University of São Paulo (1982). She was a full professor at Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie (until 02-2019). She is currently a professor at the University of São Paulo, member of the editorial board at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, member of the association of the National Association of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Literature and Linguistics, reviewer at the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation. She has experience in the area of Literature, with an emphasis on Portuguese Literature, working mainly on the following themes: Portuguese literature, literature by women, contemporary fiction and literary discourse. Since 2012, she has led the Women's Literature Study Group (GELAF).
