PhD in Literature from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2002). Post-doctorate at the Faculty of Arts of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2009) and at the University of São Paulo (2021). Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Letters at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Member of the Interuniversity Center for Camonian Studies at the University of Coimbra, where he is part of the critical edition team of Os Lusíadas. Among other books, he recently published "Carta de Achamento do Brasil" Commented edition (Ed. Unicamp 2021), "20 Sonnets - Luís de Camões. Commented edition" (Editora da Unicamp, 2018), "Ingleses no Brasil - Relatos de Viagem. 1526-1618" (Chão Editora 2020), with Vivien Kogut Lessa de Sá (University of Cambridge). He works in the area of ​​Literature, with an emphasis on Portuguese Literature, Camonian Studies, Travel Reports and Book History.

2019 - Current Two Jesuit treatises on Brazil in 1591 - study and edition

Description: The research focuses on two Jesuit handwritten documents attributed to Father Francisco Soares, generically titled Some of the Most Remarkable Things in Brazil, written in the 1590s in Brazil. The aim is to prepare a critical edition of the documents and study issues of authorship and discursive genre in light of the manuscript culture and scribal and literate practices of the period.
