Author by author: Portuguese literature and history in the light of theater II
Description: This is a long-term project. Under the line of research "Canons: traditions/reconfigurations" of the Postgraduate Program in Portuguese Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences at the University of São Paulo, created by the late Prof. Dr. Francisco Maciel Silveira and coordinated by Profa. Dr. Flavia Maria Corradin, the Author by Author Project: Portuguese Literature and History in the light of objective theater
a) the examination of theatrical texts (or those with a strong dramatic nature) whose theme and/or motif is the life and/or work of Portuguese authors;
b) the examination of theatrical texts (or those with a strong dramatic nature) whose theme and/or motif are aspects, facts or characters from Portuguese History;
c) the use of theatrical techniques and resources in teaching Portuguese Literature and History.
Therefore, the Project is developed in two aspects:
a) the reinterpretation of the life and work of authors of Portuguese Literature and/or episodes and characters from History made by other creators, especially playwrights. The aim is to review current critical concepts in critical bibliography, around authors, works, themes, in addition to promoting contemporary Portuguese dramaturgy;
b) contribute didactically and methodologically to the teaching of Portuguese Literature and History, presenting in a creative way the life and work of authors or historical characters. For this aspect, the Project created the Gambiarra Theater Studies Group, under the direction and coordination of Prof. Dr. Flavia Maria Corradin.
As conceived, and thanks to its intertextual roots, the project has a fivefold purpose:
a) historicize Portuguese Literature and History based on theatrical plays (or fictional texts) that focus on authors, works, themes, episodes;
b) examine the life and/or work of a given author based on different dramatic texts;
c) study a literary or historical theme that, recurrent in the Portuguese imagination, was focused, at different times, by theatrical texts or texts with a strong dramatic nature;
d) show, through work shops and presentations in Educational Institutions, how teaching Literature and, subsequently, History can be done through theatrical resources and techniques;
e) the collection of interviews and/or testimonies from contemporary authors whose titles are listed in the Project and about whom there is very little or no bibliography.
Covering the period from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, the project aims to encourage students to critically reflect on Portuguese Literature and History, offering them the opportunity to explore it diachronically as they study authors, movements, themes, episodes, facts. The corpus, therefore, grows constantly, which justifies its reissue.

Mitographies Project: Themes and Variations
Description: In the matrix of Western culture, the Homeric Poems and the Bible stand out. Over the centuries, these and other works have generated a wealth of myths, symbols, themes and ways of thinking about the human condition and national identity. Following scientific events and publications already carried out, the Mitografias project develops and consolidates research in this broad domain of knowledge.
