Graduate Course in Portuguese Literature - University of São Paulo
GOALS PLAN
(2021-2024)
Regarding faculty:
1) Give greater visibility to the Portuguese Literature Conference, so that it remains a representative activity of the research carried out by PPGLP graduate students and encourages interaction between these students and undergraduate students.
2) Intensify the work of research groups and laboratories, strengthening their specificities and expanding dialogue with other universities in Brazil and abroad.
3) Encourage faculty and student publications in Qualis A and B journals.
4) Strengthen both national and international exchanges, in order to hold at least two events (congress/colloquium/seminar) per year, representative of both levels.
5) Establish partnerships with related areas of the Department of Classical and Vernacular Languages, in order to increase the course’s representation in the context of submitting projects to national and international funding agencies, with a view to advancing research in the field of linguistic and literary studies.
6) Improve the visibility of the course through electronic publications, constant updating of the website, online events, among others.
7) Teach a greater number of face-to-face and distance learning courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels with visiting professors and postdoctoral students from other national and foreign universities.
8) Since an affirmative action policy is already in place for the admission of black, indigenous, transsexual, and transgender students to the course, develop retention policies for these groups.
9) In the medium and long term, we intend to create interinstitutional graduate courses that can dialogue with various Brazilian and foreign universities and research centers.
10) Also in the medium and long term, we intend to offer courses in other languages, such as English, Spanish, French, and Italian. These objectives are in line with those defined by the USP Graduate Studies Office, which encourages courses to adopt interinstitutional and multilingual policies.
In relation to students:
1) Expand the participation of undergraduate and graduate students in the course's research groups or laboratories.
2) Intensify the dialogue between teachers and students with research groups and centers outside the course, both national and international
3) Increase the participation of graduate students in the course in the activities of the PAE – Teaching Improvement Course, which aims to train higher education teachers.
4) Increase the number of co-authored publications between faculty and students in the course and co-authored with researchers from other national or international universities.
5) Attract students from national and foreign universities to participate in distance learning courses offered by the course.
